Curt offers a Class III or IV hitch for your Fort Transit T-150 van. The Class III, part # C13193 has a 6000 lb towing/900 lb tongue weight capacity. The Class IV, part # C14012 has a 10,000 lb towing/1000 lb tongue weight capacity. You'll be limited by the capacity of the vehicle, if its lower than the capacity of the hitch. The Curt # C13167 is a fit for the Transit Connect, and won't fit the full size Transit.
For wiring, I'd recommend the # C56327 to provide a 4-pole trailer connector.... view full answer...
The Thule Hideaway Tent part # TH309920 will work great with the Hideaway part # TH490008 you are planning on installing on your 2016 Ford Transit T150. Your height of 8.5 feet would not be an issue at all either as that height would easily work with this tent and fits within it's range. The max height is 9 feet 4 inches. view full answer...
Performance wise, the Thule XG-12 Self-Tensioning Tire Chains, part # TH01594245 and the Pewag # PWSXV580 Snox Pro chains are pretty similar. Both use square chain links for superior bite into slick surfaces.
As far as ease of installation, I'd give the Pewag Chains a slight edge. I also like the way the Pewag chains have the permanently installed bumpers that prevent the chains from damaging the vehicle's wheels, rather than the more temporary ones on the Thule chains. Another plus,... view full answer...
The Carr Transit Step for Cargo Vans - Side Door - Steel Platform # CARR451001 you're looking at would work fine, however if it were up to me I'd consider splurging a bit more for the Aries RidgeStep Running Boards w/ Custom Installation Kit # AA2055535.
Reason being, you get a longer, wider step for your wife to step onto which would minimize mis-stepping and potentially preventing future injuries. view full answer...
The ski length max of the Yakima EXO System with Ski and Snowboard Carrier and Enclosed Cargo Carrier # Y94ZR being 185 cm is based on the width of the vehicle. So if you had a really wide vehicle a longer ski would work. view full answer...
If you have a vehicle wiring harness like the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness 4-Way Trailer Connector # C56327 you will have a power wire that is run to the battery on your 2016 Ford Transit T150. Make sure to check that the in-line fuse which should be located by the battery is not blown and feeding power to your 4-way connector. I recommend testing the 4-Way connector with a Circuit Tester like the Draw-Tite Circuit Tester # PTW2993.
If the power wire and fuse are ok, check for... view full answer...
The Westin HDX Grille Guard with Punch Plate # W88XV has a shipping weight of 97 lbs so it should be about 92 lbs when you get rid of all of the packaging.
We haven't had the opportunity to install the HDX on a Ford Transit yet, but I am attaching a photo from the linked instructions so you can get an idea of what it will look like. view full answer...
It is possible to install the Hopkins Agility part # HM47295 in your 2018 Ford Transit but you'll have to hardwire it in as there isn't factory brake controller wiring present for your vehicle.
You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # C56327.
From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I... view full answer...
Yes, the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform part # RR29QX does fit your 2015 Ford Transit T150 and does come with all of the needed install hardware so you would not need to order anything else. view full answer...
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" # C11012 is a confirmed fit for 2015-2023 Ford Transit Van T150, T250, and T350 models. This hitch is rated for weight distribution system up to a 1,000 lb tongue weight and up to 10,000 lbs towing. Even though the hitch itself is rated for this, you will want to go by the manufacturer's limitations. I've attached a photo from Ford's towing guide to help determine your capacities based on engine and body style.
I've attached... view full answer...
The Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar part # RM-576 that you referenced does come as pictured with safety cables, crossbar assembly with quick-disconnects, and a 6-way to 7-way adapter included. view full answer...
I attached a diagram that shows how the trailer wiring harness # 22114 wires. The red wire runs to the positive battery terminal for powering the taillight circuits of the trailer wiring. This way all the power that the taillights of the trailer draw come from the battery and not the vehicle taillights.
The black wire is the 12 volt power accessory circuit for the 7-way which is totally separate. view full answer...
One way to raise the Curt cargo carrier part # C18153 would be to use a Curt hitch adapter part # D210. This has a second hitch opening above the ball mount platform which can give you additional height. Unlike other similar adapters it does not end up cutting the capacity of the hitch it is used in by 50% either. view full answer...
The TracRac TracVan rack part # TH29610XT that you referenced is confirmed as a fit for your 2018 Ford Transit T150 but there's no portion of it that would have came off of a 2008 Ford F-250. view full answer...
The Rola roof rack you mentioned is not a fit for your 2017 Ford Transit T150 which means it wouldn't work on your vehicle and we definitely don't have pictures of it installed.
The most similar roof rack we have for your 2017 Ford Transit T150 is the Rhino Rack roof rack part numbers # RRVA180S-2, # RRRLTPFC-2, and # RRVA-FK1-2 which we had the chance to install on a similar T150 as yours. I attached an install video as well as an install picture for you to check out as well. When the... view full answer...
Hey Ian,
For your 2017 Ford Transit T150 you'll need the Rhino-Rack's RTLP legs and adapters because you'll have fixed mounting points on the roof. There are a few different kits depending on the amount of crossbars you'd like to install/how many sets of fixed mounting points you have to use. Rhino-Rack has both silver and black aero crossbars to choose from so I've included both in each build below but you'll only need to select one set of crossbars and then the appropriate feet/adapters... view full answer...
Hello Paul, that is a really good question. I just chatted with the folks at Mad Ramps, and they said they really cannot advise using the # MR54FR ramps for loading motorized wheelchairs into the back of a 2015 Ford Transit T-150 Van. The main concern is that the ramps would be too far apart to accommodate the wheelchairs wheelbase. The ramps cannot be moved closer together or further apart and they are designed to accommodate the standard ATV/UTV/Golf Cart wheelbases. That and if you were... view full answer...
For the Yakima EXO kits they offer a swing base with the part # Y34VR that will allow you to swing the rack away from the rear of the vehicle to access the rear door. Since the light kit part # Y74VR attaches to the rear of the rack it would swing away with rack and would work perfectly fine. view full answer...
If the connector you found looks like the round connector in the picture I attached all you would need to add a 7-way to your vehicle would be the part # HM40975 as this would plug into this connector.
Now since you have a 7-way you would just need to wire it up so that your controller would work with it.
First let's start with a brake controller. I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and... view full answer...
